We are a Beloved Community, and we are fighting for all of the Uses.
On a 5-day bridge-building walk from San Francisco to Sacramento we call for the repeal of Prop 8.
On the way we'll meet with local communities to share our stories and to hear about their struggles for social and economic justice.
Join us.

FYI, I've been posting some shiznit at the One Struggle, One Fight blog. The blog is at the website of an LGBT rights group that's planning a march from SF to Sacramento, and I'm helping out with some of the organizing in the leadup to the march.

(02-01) 18:40 PST -- Brandon Manning says he never saw it coming.
One minute he was hanging out with seven seemingly friendly guys in a park, the next he said he was on the ground, the blows coming from all sides, a fist or foot landing hard enough to fracture six bones in his face.
But it was the words accompanying the blows that made Manning, 24, think he was about to die.
"Coon." And then, "How do you like this, you f-ing n-?"

Pete Seeger and Bruce Springstein sang a version of "This Land Is Your Land," originally written by Communist Woody Guthrie, that included a verse about private property normally taken out of the song. And this was sung at some inaugural concert, and thousands are singing along and dancing, including Obama!
Today I went to a protest for immigrant rights organized by a coalition of groups. I find out about the protest through Pride at Work, the LGBT caucus within the AFL-CIO, which was one of the co-sponsors. It was one of the most creative and well organized protests I've been to in a long, long time.
We met on the second floor of city hall. Most of the people present were Latino, I'm sure many of whom were immigrants. There were also a number of Asian Americans and Asian immigrants, and then there was a smattering of queer people of various races and ethnicities. There was some sort of fancy gala just about to start while the protest was happening, and as the protest progressed, a constant flow of mostly white people entered city hall in tuxedos and fancy dresses.

Excerpt:
With your hands of power and your heart of love, help us then, now, Lord, to work for that day when nations shall not lift up sword against nation, when tanks will be beaten into tractors, when every man and every woman shall sit under his or her own vine and fig tree and none shall be afraid, when justice will roll down like waters and righteousness as a mighty stream.
Lord, in the memory of all the saints who from their labors rest, and in the joy of a new beginning, we ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get in back, when brown can stick around...
(LAUGHTER)
... when yellow will be mellow...
(LAUGHTER)
LOWERY: ... when the red man can get ahead, man; and when white will embrace what is right. That all those who do justice and love mercy say Amen.

Hello all,
Sorry for the mass e-mail, but I'm writing and sending you these
flyers in an effort to spread word about an organization I'm helping out
with, One Struggle One Fight, and a march for LGBT rights they are putting
together going from SF to Sacramento, March 25-29. We need
all the publicity we can get. We want as many people to participate as
possible. Basically, we'll be marching from San Francisco to Sacramento
(on foot, yes) and stopping and staying at a few towns on the way,
spreading the message, and coming together with their communities.
Once everyone arrives in Sacramento, there will be a big day of action
on March 30th to raise awareness and support for various civil rights
issues.
